A couple of years ago, a friend told me about a bed and breakfast that he and his wife stayed at called the Spirit Tree Inn. I was intrigued and went down and scouted it out and I came way impressed.  It is a cool little place just outside of Patagonia, Arizona.  It has an Amish barn and one of the largest cotton wood trees in the state. It’s a great little place that oozes character and has a lot of interesting locations to work with for a photo shoot.

Tom and Mary Jane, the owners, were very accommodating and friendly and were very supportive about allowing us to shoot there.

At the time I scouted it, I had no way of knowing that it would be almost two years before I go back and actually do a photo shoot there. I scheduled the shoot in mid-October hoping to be past the worst of the Arizona heat and rewarded with a day in the upper nineties.

Here are some of the photos that didn’t make it into the editorial “Spirits of the West” that was eventually published in Elegant Magazine’s November, 2017 edition.
